MEDEIROS UNCERTAIN ABOUT WANDERERS INTEREST
Sporting Lisbon winger Luis Medeiros says he is not sure about his next future move despite reported interests from Wolves.
The player has been linked to the club for over a month now as his spot in the Portuguese side remains unknown. The winger says he hopes he has impressed Jorge Jesus enough to retain his spot in the team.
“My goal is to stay on the squad, but I still do not know what’s going to happen. Now I’ll have to wait for a decision from Mr. Jorge Jesus,” Medeiros said.
He added that he is yet to hear from the manager but that he thinks he has done enough to justify his inclusion in the squad for the forthcoming term. Other Portuguese stars like Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Roderick Miranda have moved to join the wanderers recently.
Neves joined Wolves in a Championship recordfee of £16 million from FC Porto. Jonathan Kodjia held the record after Aston Villa agreed a deal with Bristol City. Wolves boss wanted the 20-year old who featured under him previously to move from Porto so he broke the record.
Wolves recently just signed Portugal Under-21 Jota on a season long loan from Atletico Madrid. The youngster was on loan at Porto last term where he featured under Wolves boss NunoEspirito Santo but he would now continue another loan deal in England.
Wolves have added many other players of different nationalities as the manager builds his own team for the season ahead. Players have also left the club to make space for the additions. If Jesus rules that Medeiros has not done enough to remain in the Lisbon team, Wolves might be his new home. His compatriots would surely welcome him.
