Kenny Jackett says that he is extremely pleased
Kenny Jackett says that he is extremely pleased with the fighting spirit from by his players to produce a narrow 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
This was the third consecutive victory for the team and one that helped them move to 11th in the table. Things appeared to turn for the worst when the club suffered back-to-back defeats against Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday. This appeared to take the hope of promotion out of the club for yet another campaign. The recent run of form, though, appears to have .
It remains to be seen ifJackett will put some focus into the FA Cup or concentrate entirely on the league. Despite the dip in form towards the end of 2015, the club still remains only a few points away from reaching the play-off places. However, they now have to depend on a number of teams dropping points between now and the end of the season. This may forceJackett to consider other competitions too. The recent defensive record of Wolves has improved tremendously and the club has been able to get three clean sheets in succession.
Jackett says that the players have been responsible for making this turnaround since they have been working very hard in training.“I certainly knew where the team needed to go and what we needed to do, after Sheffield Wednesday. The players have responded very well. They’ve taken the responsibility and worked very hard.We changed the emphasis of the team from chasing games. Our emphasis was more on the ball and that showed – we were easy to play against, easy to get through, not compact, exposing our defenders in one-v-one situations too many times. The emphasis of the team had to change,” said Jackett.
