Wolves Not Desperate For New Players

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett has stated that the club are not desperate for new players and that he is quite relaxed about the club’s transfer activity so far. Wolves returned to the Championship in the first instance and they will be looking to get back into the Premier League the same way.
Last season, there was a lot of negativity surrounding the club after relegation to League One. Now, it is the opposite as Wolves are being considered as potential challengers for the promotion spots. Jackett, though, is staying realistic and he has stated that the club will be going through each option carefully.

Wolves have been involved in negotiations with Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire for the last few weeks.
However, they are looking unlikely to get their transfer targets since the player has ambitions of playing in the Premier League. Despite this setback, Jackett says that the club have several alternatives lined up and they will be looking to pursue them instead. Wolves have so far made two offers for the 21-year-old defender, but it now looks like Hull city will be the club signing him from Sheffield.

Jackett says that Wolves are reasonably strong across the pitch and they do not need to be desperate in the transfer market. “I don’t think we are in a desperate need for any particular position - I think the players are in a good place. They have come back and fell into a similar type of groove that they left in. The (toe) injury to Tommy Rowe is a disappointment because he had made a bright start to pre-season but looking at the timing I don’t think it will take him too long to get up to speed, so with luck he won’t miss much of the season,” said the manager.
