Jackett Praised by Players

Kenny Jackett’s record breaking campaign with Wolverhampton Wanderers has seen the English manager winning the Manager of the month award on 3 occasions but more importantly was the fact that the club cruised to the top of League One and secured their promotion ticket to the Championship League.

Former player of Wolverhampton, Steve Bull talked about the impact and the sensational season that Kenny Jackett enjoyed since being appointed as the head coach of the club.

“You couldn’t have planned last season any better. Everybody was kicking us in the teeth when we were down there, saying Wolves have done nothing.
‘‘Now those critics are quiet. Kenny Jackett has said the right things all along. He is not one of those managers to put his foot in his mouth. When he says something he makes sure the team’s actions are always louder. He is a very professional person. The talent and the flair within the squad are unbelievable. Whether that is enough to challenge Championship clubs is another thing. I think he will need to strengthen’’. Steve Bull declared.

Steve Bull made over 450 appearances for the Wolves some years ago and he still maintains a close relationship with the players of the club and the retired footballer revealed that he had been in contact with the captain Sam Ricketts before the last match of the season which they played against Carlisle.

“They have far exceeded expectations; 103 points will take some beating. I said to captain Sam Ricketts before the final game against Carlisle ‘come on, we want 3-0 or 4-0... Records don’t come around too often.’ Those pages in the history books will now stay with those players’’. Bull added on.

The next challenge of Kenny Jackett awaits him in the Championship League as Wolverhampton has not won that league since 2008.
